My work begins from an interest in the relationships that emerge between human activity and the environments that surround it.
Through photography, I trace how human presence resonates within environments shaped by topography, climate, and historical context.

I was raised in the mountainous region of Gifu and am now based in Aichi. Moving between these different environments on the same ground, I have become drawn to moments when the relationship between human activity and nature shifts within the landscape, and to places where layers of memory and social structures overlap.

While my earlier work focused on urban spaces in Asia, in recent years my attention has turned toward regional areas in central Japan, where topography and climate more directly shape the environment. There, I continue to observe the relationships between people and landscape.

Landscapes that hold multiple layers of structure and time do not present themselves as fixed meanings or narratives; rather, they come into being through the intersection of various elements.
